The rector of the Notre Dame Cathedral now says that the Paris landmark could be saved but not entirely. It is now clear that there is a 50% chance that it might not be saved as scaffolding installed are threatening the vaults of the Gothic monument. The scaffolding is not fully secure and could fall into one of the three major vaults according to experts – still some on the site believe that in three years, the area will be safe for visitors. About 2 million people visit the church each year around the holiday season according to government records. For now, decamped celebrations have been at the Louvre Museum and Saint-Germain l`Auxerrois Church.
