While the Prime Minster, Mr Abe, announced easing of restrictions for shopping and gathering in public, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, as part of the deal, will pay more to businesses the remain closed after May 7th. Businesses eligible to receive the financial assistance will include restaurants, bars, live music venues which were asked to close since April 7. Businesses will receive between $4,700 and $9,000 which is about 500,000 to 1,000,000 yen. The PM said that he and his team of doctors and experts will monitor the situation, since the State of Emergency has been extended from May 6 to May 31, to make adjustments along the way.
