The Trump administration has rejected the invite from Chairman Jerry Nadler to participate in the impeachment process on Wednesday. Mr Nadler has challenged the White House, saying the US President is not above the law. White House Counsel Pat Cipollone derided the “baseless and highly partisan” Democratic-led effort to drive an impeachment investigation which is described by Chairman Nadler as a “historical and constitutional basis of impeachment” with what seems to be, a we-gotcha moment for the US House. The impeachment process is taking place while the US President is visiting London for a NATO conference – Trump will meet with many leaders on this trip. Cipollone argued that Adam Schiff and his House Intelligence Committee has already shown that Trump has done nothing wrong. Chairman Schiff has had some secret meetings and other closed door get togethers that are said to be unfair by Trump and his attorneys. Schiff and his team feel that Trump has crossed the consititutional threshold of “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
